Did You Know That Your Child’s Health Can Be Affected by Nutrition?

Posted .

As you know, your diet can have a huge impact on your overall health. But did you know that your diet can also impact your dental health? Furthermore, your child’s diet can have a major impact on their dental health. Naturally, foods like sugar and coffee can have an immediate impact, but the vitamins and minerals your child gets—or doesn’t get—can have a long-term impact.

For example, if your child has a vitamin B deficiency, they could get canker sores, bad breath, or experience a burning feeling in their mouth. A Vitamin C deficiency could lead to bleeding gums and infections. This also makes it harder to fight off infections. Finally, a vitamin D, calcium, or magnesium deficiency could all weaken your child’s teeth.

Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to protect your little one’s teeth. For instance, you can give your children enough vitamin B by including foods such as avocados, bananas, and eggs into their diet. You can give your child vitamin C through foods like dark vegetables, peppers, strawberries, and kiwis. Finally, vitamin D, magnesium, and calcium can be found in fatty fish and dairy.
