What is CEREC?
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, and it’s completely changed the way Dr. Kevin M. Altieri is able to offer you custom made dental restoration options.
How does it work?
CEREC works by first taking a 3D picture of your teeth and create an outline of what the restoration should look like. Once Dr. Kevin M. Altieri approves the new restoration, he lets the CEREC machine mill it from a ceramic block.
The ceramic restoration is then placed on your teeth just like it would have been if it came from a dental lab. The difference is that instead of waiting a week or more for your restoration materials to return from a lab, you only wait a matter of minutes until they’re ready. After the initial consultation appointment, you can get your tooth restoration completed in one sitting!
